Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday recovered around Rs 1.5 crore in cash during raids underway at properties linked to deputy director and project director (PD) of Watershed in Malkangiri.
The government official, identified as Santanu Mohapatra, is accused of accumulating assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to Vigilance, simultaneous house searches are being conducted by teams led by 2 Additional SPs, 4 DSPs,10 inspectors, 6 ASIs, and other supporting staff on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore at 7 locations in Malkangiri, Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
The raids are currently underway at these following places:
1) Residential triple-storey building at Jeypore.
2) House of Mohan Mandal, Asst. Agriculture Engineer, at Malkajgiri
3) House of Biswajit Mandal, Data Entry Operator, PD Watershed, at Malkajgiri.
4) House of Amiyakanta Sahu, contractual staff in his office, at Malkangiri.
5) Office chamber of Mohapatra at Malkangiri.
6) Paternal house of Mohapatra at Nuapada, Balisahi, Cuttack.
7) House of his relative at Bhimatangi, Housing Board Colony, Bhubaneswar.
