Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance has registered highest cash seizures in its history in 2022 with top four seizures amounting to Rs 7 crore.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Vigilance Director YK Jethwa said the sleuths have unearthed disproportionate assets (DA) worth Rs 160 crore during the year. The Vigilance has registered 270 cases, including 75 DA cases, 114 trap cases and the rest corruption cases, so far. Of the total cases, around 60 were registered against Class I officers.
“As far as cash seizures are concerned, we made record seizures in 2022. The top four cash seizures amounted to Rs 7 crore, the highest ever,” he said. In trap cases also, the highest cash seizure was recorded this year, he added.
He further said Odisha Vigilance registered the highest number of DA cases in the country Last year.
Stating that 87 convictions of the total case have been made so far with about 50% conviction rate, he said the Vigilance has also given priority to completion of investigation and submission of charge sheets, especially in the old cases.
