Bhubaneswar: The Vigilance sleuths seized suspected Rs 5 lakh ill-gotten cash from Assistant Soil Conservation Officer, Rayagada, Kishor Chandra Nayak in Odisha’s Rayagada district late on Sunday.
According to sources, he was intercepted near Aravninda School, Rayagada, while on his way to his rented house on a motorcycle. In the raid that followed, another Rs 6.3 lakh was seized from his house near Mangala Mandir, taking the total seizure amount to Rs 11,34,560.
Besides his residence, searches are on at his wife’s residence at Patrapada Kishor Vihar, Khandagiri, Bhubaneswar, and
parental house at Mantriguda, Nabarangpur.
