Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths seized Rs 1.05 lakh suspected ill-gotten cash from Surjit Kumar Sahu, Forest Range Officer of Lamtaput at Odisha’s Koraput town late on Monday.
He was intercepted while travelling to Bhubaneswar in his office vehicle. Sahu could not give satisfactory reply about the source of the cash, sources in the anti-corruption agency said.
Simultaneous searches were thereafter conducted at office and residential quarters at Lamtaput and family residence at Bhubaneswar from disproportionate assets angle. Investigation is in progress.
Notably, Sahu was promoted to the post of ACF from ranger on the same day.
