Odisha Vigilance Traps Junior Assistant In Khurda BEO Office Taking Bribe

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday apprehended junior assistant (in charge of accounts) in the office of BEO in Khurda, Pradipta Kumar Sahoo, while allegedly accepting Rs 6,000 bribe.

He had demanded the illegal gratification from the complainant to release bill of differential pay in favour of his sister, a retired primary schoolteacher, towards her incremental benefits. The entire bribe money has been recovered from his possession and seized, a Vigilance release said.

House searches are being conducted to ascertain whether he had accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, it addd.
