Odisha Vigilance Unearths 2 Buildings, 15 Plots During Raid On Sr Revenue Asst



Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths unearthed huge assets, including two buildings and 15 plots, during raids at locations linked to Senior Revenue Assistant Basudev Bhoi, working in the office of the Settlement Officer in Sambalpur.

Simultaneous searches are being conducted at four locations of Bhoi on the allegations of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Vigilance said in a press release that a team led by two DSPs and eight inspectors is carrying out the operation with search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur.

During house searches so far, the following assets have been unearthed in the

name of Bhoi and his family members:

1.One double-storey residential building with area 4000 sq ft. located at Bargarh.

2. One building with area 1700 sq ft at Charbhati, Sambalpur.

3. 15 valuable plots including 10 in Bargarh town, 4 in Sambalpur town & 1 on the outskirts of Sambalpur.

The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above buildings/plots are being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing.

4. Bank, Postal deposits and other investments etc. are being ascertained.

5. A four-wheeler (Maruti DZIRE) and 4 two-wheelers.

As per Vigilance, Bhoi had joined government service on September 12, 1989 as Junior Clerk in the settlement office at Bhawanipatna with a monthly initial salary of Rs 787.

The searches are in progress and further details are awaited. Searches are underway at his following four places in Bargarh and Sambalpur districts. 👇

(2) One building at Charbhati, Sambalpur.

(3) His parental house at Bargarh.

(4) His office at Sambalpur.
