Villagers Halt Superfast Train In Odisha To Protest Against Railway Level Crossing Closure

Mayurbhanj: Baripada-Bhubaneswar Superfast train was detained by local residents for two hours on Wednesday morning in protest against closure of a railway level crossing at Indiranagar under Betanoti block in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.

The villagers are facing problems commuting since its closure and had complained about it before the railway officials, but in vain.

“The railway crossing made commuting easy. We are facing problems since the railway authorities have fenced it on both the sides. We had apprised the railway authorities in this regard, but no step was taken. Following which, we resorted to a rail roko today,” said one of the agitating villagers.
