Bhawanipatna: Lanjigarh MLA Pradip Kumar Disari had to return without inaugurating projects on Friday amid protests by villagers over lack of road connectivity at Trilochanpur village on the foothills of Niyamgiri Hills in Odisha’s Kalahandi district.
According to sources, the legislator was scheduled to inaugurate an ‘Adarsh Goat Hostel’ and a park in the village. The villagers, however, intercepted his carcade and welcomed him ‘First repair roads, then inaugurate parks and new projects’ slogan. As they did not allow Disari to enter the village, the lawmaker had no option but to leave the place red-faced without attending the inauguration ceremony.
The villagers alleged that while their demand for proper road connectivity had fallen on deaf ears, the MLA visited them to inaugurate the projects with an eye on the upcoming polls.
