Sambalpur: From the next academic session, the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla will conduct its own MBBS and MD exams.
The decision comes after the Controller of Examinations of Sambalpur University advised VIMSAR to hold its own MBBS and MD exams as it is an independent institute and no longer affiliated to the university.
VIMSAR Director Lalit Meher said, “As we don’t have experience in holding such exams, we might face some problems initially. But it will be beneficial in the long run.”
Students welcomed the move.
