Bhubaneswar: The well-marked low pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal off north Odisha and West Bengal coasts has intensified into a depression, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar said on Sunday.
Under the influence of the above system, rains are continuing in coastal districts of Odisha.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red warning for 10 districts — Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Sonepur, Boudh, Bargarh, Angul, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Deogarh.
Similarly, an orange warning has been sounded for 11 districts — Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Koraput and Malkangiri. A yellow warning has been sounded for nine districts — Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, Puri, Gajapati and Ganjam.
