Jagatsinghpur: A woman and her nine-month-old son have reportedly gone missing under mysterious circumstances while travelling by train from Bengaluru to Odisha.
The missing woman has been identified as Subhadra Mallik, wife of Prakash Mallik, a resident of Rankei village in Jagatsinghpur district.
According to information, the woman was returning home with the child aboard the Bhubaneswar–Bengaluru Express on August 31. At around 1:45 pm, she spoke to her father over the phone and asked him to arrange an auto-rickshaw to pick her up from Bhubaneswar railway station.
Following her request, her younger brother travelled from Jagatsinghpur to Bhubaneswar in an auto-rickshaw to receive her. However, when he reached the station, Subhadra’s phone was switched off. Even after a long wait, he was unable to locate his sister and eventually returned home.
Worried over her disappearance, Subhadra’s husband, Prakash Mallik, lodged a written complaint with the Bengaluru Government Railway Police (GRP). Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
The circumstances surrounding their disappearance remain unclear and efforts are on to trace her and the child.
