Boudh: A woman ASI of police was critically injured when an Emergency Response Van hit a truck during patrolling near Manmunda petrol pump in Odisha’s Boudh district last night.
The injured cop has been identified as Mamilata Samal.
According to sources, the ASI and four others had gone to Baunsuni in the vehicle on being informed about an accident in the area. While returning, the ill-fated van rammed a stationary truck parked along the road. Samal was initially rushed to the Manamunda health centre and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as her condition deteriorated. Four other occupants of the van sustained minor injuries in the mishap.
