Balangir: The woman sub-inspector (SI), who was undergoing treatment at the Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Odisha’s balangir, after allegedly consuming poison, went missing from the healthcare facility under mysterious circumstances on Thursday night.
Police suspect SI Kajal Bag could have left with her family members, who stay in Bhawanipatna. “The family members might have taken her with them. We are trying to find her whereabouts,” said a police officer.
Four months ago, SI Kajal Bag was transferred from Town police station to Saintala police station in the district. Neighbours at Gopabandhunagar, where she had rented a house, heard shouting over phone and threatening to kill herself. They then informed police. The SI, who had allegedly attempted to end her life by consuming mosquito repellent, was rushed to the Saintala Community Health Centre on Wednesday. Later in the night her condition worsened and she was shifted to Bhima Bhoi hospital.
The exact reason behind the alleged suicide bid is yet to be ascertained.
