Keonjhar: Decomposed body of a woman was recovered from Sonamuni picnic spot in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Sunday morning.
Preliminary reports suggest that she might have been sexually assaulted and murdered.
According to sources, local residents spotted the body and informed Anandapur police, which reached the spot with a scientific team and initiated an investigation.
Police said that the body of the deceased, who is yet to be identified, bore some injury marks. They are yet come across any clue since no missing complaints have been filed in the nearby localities in recent times. The body has been sent for postmortem to ascertain the cause of the death.
Since Sonamuni on the bank of River Baitarani is a very popular picnic spot, she might have come with a group for a picnic, and have been sexually assaulted and murdered, locals feared.
