Kalahandi: Body of a woman was found perched atop a tree with saree tied around her neck at Guturu Nagafeni village under Jaipatna police limits in Kalahandi district on Monday.
The woman has been identified as Kunti Rout( 26). She was married Balaram Rout of the village and mothered a three-year-old girl child.
According to sources, Balaram found Kunti missing when he returned home after buying balloons for their daughter from the village fair on Sunday evening. He and his brother went looking for her but failed to trace her.
Some villagers found her hanging from a tree branch the following morning.
Kunti’s family suspected that she was murdered by her husband.
Jaipatna police have seized the body and launched a probe.
