Khurda: A young woman employee of a private clinic at Sabara Sahi under Khurda Industrial police limits in Odisha allegedly died by suicide soon after posting ‘death is waiting for me” on her WhatsApp status.
She was found hanging from a fan on the premises of the clinic on Monday night.
The deceased, identified as Sandhyarani Panigrahi (20), hailed from Sunakhela of Puri district and had been working as an assistant in the clinic since last six months. She also resided on the premises of the health facility along with two of her female colleagues.
According to sources, she worked till 5 pm on Monday and went to her room after the clinic was closed for the day. Her colleagues found her hanging from a fan in her clinic uniform with a dupatta around her neck at 6.30 pm and alerted the clinic’s owner.
On being informed, Khurda Industrial police station in-charge Basudeb Jayasingh reached the clinic. The body was recovered and a probe was initiated.
The deceased reportedly had been posting sad messages on social media for the last couple of days. On Monday, she had posted four different messages on her WhatsApp. In her last status update at 6.03 pm, she wrote, “You have changed completely. For whom should I stay alive? Death is waiting for me.”
