Sundargarh: A woman of Odisha’s Sundargarh district has been accused by her father of transferring Rs 40 lakh from his bank account of her father to her’s by forging his signature.
Her father, an elderly man, has lodged a police complaint in this regard.
According to the complainant, he had deposited the compensation amount received as an MCL project displaced person in a bank in Sundargarh.
He is a resident of Gopalpur under Hemgira police limits.
In the meantime, the man disowned his daughter after she married a youth from Kinjirikela against his wish. However, things started to normalise between them and the daughter began visiting his parents.
Six months ago, she trickily took away some leaves from his cheque book and transferred Rs 40 lakh to her account by forging his signature.
The man came to know about the fraud when he visited the bank to withdraw some cash.
Police, however, suggested that he resolved the matter by talking to his daughter, the sources added.
