Bhubaneswar: Odisha Youth Congress and NSUI activists protested before Raj Bhavan here on Monday demanding the arrest of Governor Raghubar Das’ son over the alleged assault of an assistant section officer.

The activists questioned why no action has been taken in this matter that took place on July 7 when ASO Baikuntha Pradhan was allegedly assaulted by the Governor’s son and his associates at Raj Bhavan, Puri.

While Pradhan was transferred and posted in the Home department after the controversy snowballed, the Youth Congress and NSUI activists threatened to continue with the agitation till the accused is arrested.

Commissionerate police detained a number of activists as they attempted breaking into the security cordon around Raj Bhavan in Bhubaneswar. Several protestors sitting on dharna near Power House square were also picked up by police today.
