Jajpur: Amid disappointment and heartbreak as India lost the final of Cricket World Cup to Australia on Sunday, a 23-year-old cricket enthusiast allegedly ended his life over the defeat in Odisha’s Jajpur district.
The deceased has been identified as Debranjan Das of Kul Sahi under Binjharpur police limits.
According to sources, he was found hanging from the ceiling of his neighbour’s house on Monday morning. His family then informed police, which rushed him to district headquarters hospital here, where doctors declared him ‘brought dead’.
Villagers also claimed that Devranjan was suffering from some mental disorder and had been under medication.
