Bhubaneswar: Following Chief Minister Navaeen Patnaik’s direction to the enforcement agencies to go soft on traffic rule violators in Odisha, police distributed free helmets, flowers and chocolates among motorists to raise awareness. Besides challan, the offenders were given helmet free of cost.
Now a Jeypore youth, Sarthak Sahoo, has come up with a rap song to spread awareness about traffic rules among the public. The two minutes and 30 seconds rap has gone viral on the social media.
Sarthak belongs to Jeypore in Koraput district. He is a Plus III student. Through the song, he talks about traffic rule violations by minors and the repercussions built through a dream sequence using different visuals. He has focussed on the reckless attitude of youngsters, who avoid using helmet while riding a two-wheeler.
Currently fine is being imposed for five types of violations – drunken driving (zero tolerance), use of mobile phones during driving, driving on wrong side of road, triple riding and non-usage of helmets and seat belts – across Odisha and people have been asked to ready all required documents in three months.
