Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s secretary (5T) to chief minister VK Pandian on the second day of his visit to Sundargarh district on Sunday took stock of infrastructure development in health and education sectors and religious places.
Pandian reviewed various developmental works in Rajgangpur, Hemagari, Balisankara and Tangerpali blocks on the day. In Rajgangpur block, he visited the Shiva Temple at Ghoghar and interacted with Sevayats (servitors) and other stakeholders on different aspects of transformation of the temple. He asked the authority to take steps for development of the periphery of the temple premises and making adequate facilities for conducting annual mela.
He went to the Community Health Centre at Rajgangpur which has been taken up under Ama Hospital Yojana for transformation. After interacting with the staff of the hospital and patients, he asked to expedite the ongoing development works for timely completion. During his visit to the Railway Overbridge, he reviewed the progress of construction work and asked to expedite the land acquisition process by removing the bottlenecks with coordination among all stakeholders.
Pandian then proceeded to the Shiva Temple at Belsara under Tangarpali block. After taking the suggestions of the temple servitors and others, he asked the authorities to draw up a comprehensive development plan involving renovation of temple, construction of children’s park, boundary wall, gateway, staircase, merger of 5 ponds to a water reservoir, boating facility and ropeway connecting two hills. He also visited the Mission Shakti Café, Hemgiri.
He then went to the Panchayat Samiti Junior College at Hemgiri where he Interacted with the students, Principal and lecturers. He asked the college authorities to create a comprehensive development plan with special focus on smart classrooms and library. He also inspected the beautification work of Kanika Kata Tank at Hemgiri.
The 5(T) secretary went to Kukuda Nallah Dam at Deobhubanpur and Government SSD Girl’s High School at Tileikani in Balisankara. He inspected the educational infrastructure available at the school and advised to maintain the quality of the infrastructure.
He visited Samlei Temple in Sundargarh and asked the authority to take steps for development and beatification of the river banks. During his visit to the Government Women’s College there, he discussed with the principal, lecturers and staff about various issues and asked to take immediate steps for provision of smart class, e-library & laboratory.
He also visited Gurlijore Nallah MIP and asked the authority to take immediate steps for repair, renovation and restoration of canal and dam for better irrigation facility. At the end of his tour, Pandian met the hostel inmates and coaches of the District Sports Hostel at Sundargarh.
