Odisha’s Amit Rohidas Wins Pargat Singh Award For Defender Of The Year

Bhubaneswar: Amit Rohidas has won the prestigious Hockey India Pargat Singh Award for Defender of the Year 2024.

Rohidas, Odisha’s ace drag-flicker and one of the world’s best defenders of penalty corners, received his award at the Hockey India Annual Awards function in New Delhi on Saturday.

Rohidas’ fearless tackles, rock-solid defensive qualities, and game-changing presence have greatly helped India over the years.

The 31-year-old Rohidas is a two-time Olympic bronze medallist and Asian Games gold medal winner as well. He has also served as India’s vice-captain.

The Hockey India Balbir Singh Sr Awards for Player of the Year were presented to Harmanpreet Singh (men) and Savita Punia (women). Savita was also adjudged Goalkeeper of the Year.
