Odisha’s Balasore District Leads In Arresting Fugitives During Special Drive

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police executed 3488 non-bailable warrants by arresting the accused persons during a 10-day special drive this month.

The drive was conducted from November 5 to 14 during which 2,392 warrants/arrests in GR cases, 400 warrants/arrests in sessions trial cases and 696 warrants /arrests in other cases were executed, DGP Abhay informed on Tuesday.

Maximum number of 592 fugitives were arrested in Balasore district followed by 551 in Ganjam district and 516 in Khurda district. The DGP congratulated the officers of these districts for their work and issued commendation letters.

During this warrant drive 2648 NBWs were disposed of. Odisha Police is committed to catch all fugitives evading the process of law and produce them before court, said the DGP in his address.
