President Ramnath Kovind on Tuesday appointed senior BJP leader and former Odisha minister Biswa Bhusan Harichandan as Governor of Andhra Pradesh.
Harichandan is the second person from Odisha to be made a Governor under the Narendra Modi government. In 2015, Draupadi Murmu from Mayurbhanj was made the Governor of Jharkhand.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated Biswabhusan Harichandan on his appointment and wished him well.
