Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Biju Janata Dal (BJD) expressed its support to 3 Bills on Criminal Law in Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
Participating in the debate on the BNS, BNSS & BSB Bills in the Lok Sabha, BJD MP Bhartruhari Mahtab said history is in the making as new law for criminal jurisprudence is being enacted.
“Laws enacted during colonial rule were intended to keep the subjects in line. Time has come to view law and order outside the colonial lens,” said the senior leader of the party.
The Bills have been introduced in the Parliament to replace IPC with Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), CrPC with Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and the Evidence Act with Bharatiya Sakshya Sanhita (BSS).
