Odisha’s COVID-19 Death Toll Rises To 314, Two From Cuttack

Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 toll in Odisha rose to 314 on Thursday with nine more patients succumbing to the virus in the last 24 hours.

The new fatalities were reported from Ganjam (3), Cuttack (2), Mayurbhanj (2), Kandhamal (1) and Sundargarh (1) districts.

The Health Department identified the deceased as:

  1. A 23-year-old male of Cuttack who was also suffering from diabetes, hypertension and nephropathy.
  2. A 72-year-old male of Cuttack district who was also suffering from diabetes and hypertension.
  3. A 73-year-old male of Ganjam district.
  4. An 82-year-old male of Ganjam district who was also suffering from hypertension and diabetes.
  5. A 36-year-old male of Ganjam district.
  6. A 61-year-old male of Kandhamal district who was also suffering from diabetes, hypertension, coronary artery disease and old cerebro cascular accident.
  7. A 58-year-old male of Mayurbhanj district who was also suffering from chronic kidney disease.
  8. A 60-year-old male of Mayurbhanj district.
  9. An 81-year-old male of Sundargarh district who was also suffering from diabetes.

With the nine new deaths, the virus has so far claimed 147 lives in Ganjam district, followed by 42 in Khurda, 20 in Sundargarh, 16 in Gajapati, 13 in Cuttack, 15 in Rayagada, eight in Nayagarh, seven in Balasore, five in Kandhamal, five in Puri, four each in Keonjhar, Bhadrak, three each in Bargarh, Jajpur, Angul and Kendrapada, two each in Koraput, Mayurbhanj,  Sambalpur, Malkangiri, Jagatsinghpur, Kalahandi and one each in Jharsuguda, Nabarangpur, and Dhenkanal.
