Bhubaneswar: COVID recovery rate in Odisha has improved to 98.5 per cent with 1000548 of 1015713 infected having been cured of the deadly disease till Friday.
The highest of 1,59,244 of those recovered are from Khurda followed by 89,927 from Cuttack and 60,614 from Sundargarh.
The virus has so far claimed 8092 lives in the state.
The vaccine wastage rate too has improved to -5.5 per cent, allowing the health administration to deliver an additional 12 lakh doses of vaccines from the same allotment.
The state has achieved a vaccination coverage of 58 per cent for the first dose and 72 per cent for the second dose for the beneficiaries above 18 years of age.
In view of the expected vaccine supply from the Centre, the Odisha government has now revised the vaccination target to 4 lakh a day.
