Cuttack: Twelve green smart bus stops is being planned at different locations on Mo Bus routes, like Badambadi, Link Road, Ganesh Ghat, College Square, Jobra, Cantonment and CDA, in Odisha’s Cuttack city by end of July.
According sources, the facility will be a stainless steel structure with polycarbonate roof sheet built over over 50 sq metre area. Each will cost Rs 34 lakh. It will have a vehicle parking lot, which will managed by a dedicated staff. “Solar system will be installed on the rooftop for uninterrupted power supply to the display board and LED video wall screen for advertisement and mobile phone and laptop charging points for passengers.. A smart bio-toilets will also be set up adjacent to each smart bus stop at a cost of Rs 33 lakh,” Mayor Subhas Singh told the media.
The bus stops will be designed with modern technology, incorporating open space and shade. “The areas adjacent to the bus stops will have fruit and flower bearing trees. More than 100 trees will be planted at each bus stop,” he added.
