Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in Odisha crossed the 1000-mark on Thursday as 1041 more people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The state had seen 993 new cases on Wednesday. While there has been a marginal rise in cases, the number of infected in the age group of 0-18 years has come down to 128 from 138 the previous day.
According to the I & PR department, 605 are quarantine and 436 local contact cases.
With these cases being detected from 66,281 samples, the test positivity rate stood at 1.57 per cent.
Khurda reported the highest of 398 new cases followed by Cuttack at 176. These two districts account for 55 per cent of the total new cases.
