New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Odisha-born ace woman sprinter Dutee Chand was adjudged the best athlete at the Times of India Sports Awards (TOISA) 2019 held in New Delhi on Thursday.
The nominees included two other woman athletes of India, Hima Das and Swapna Barma.
However, she was not the only sportsperson from Odisha to be felicitated at the glittering award ceremony. Badminton player Pramod Bhagat shared the TOISA 2019 with fellow shuttler Manasi Joshi for Para Sports.
PV Sindhu, Rohit Sharma, Rani, Saurabh Chaudhary, Manu Bhaker, Bajrang Punia and Jaspal Rana are some of the other prominent winners at the event, which honoured the best performances in Indian sport in 2019.
