New Delhi: The Sports Authority of India (SAI) has included ace sprinter from Odisha Dutee Chand and 19 other athletes in the core group of Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS).
All these 20 athletes in six disciplines will be supported towards Olympic preparation.
The other athletes included in the TOPS core group are Shivpal Singh (Uttar Pradesh), Annu Rani (Uttar Pradesh), KT Irfan (Kerala), Arokia Rajiv (Tamil Nadu), Noah Nirmal Tom (Kerala), Alex Anthony (Kerala) and AR Poovamma (Karnataka).
Five athletes were also selected for the core group in para-games. They are Parul Parmar (Gujarat) and Palak Kohli (Punjab) in para-badminton, Bhavina Patel (Gujarat) in para-table tennis, and Rubina Francis (Madhya Pradesh) and Siddharth Babu (Kerala) in para-shooting.
