Odisha’s ITI-Berhampur Bags Gold Medal In 72nd SKOCH Summit For Innovations To Fight COVID-19

Berhampur: The state government-run Industrial Training Institute (ITI) here has bagged gold medal in the prestigious 72nd SKOCH Summit for its outstanding work in developing innovative products to fight COVID-19.

The award was presented to the ITI at a virtual meeting organised by SKOCH group on Saturday. Dr Rajat Kumar Panigrahy, Principal of the ITI dedicated the award to all COVID warriors.

The ITI had developed Smart Swab Collection Kiosk, Smart UVC sole sanitiser, UVC ROBO Warrior, UVC Sanitizsr, Aerosol Box, Automatic Sanitiser Dispenser and others. Four of the products ware filed for patent and published in the patent journal. For the first time, the products were patented by the Ministry of Skill Development and Education.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also appreciated the efforts and said the skill team of the ITI shown the path to the country to ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’. Besides, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union Minister for Skill Development Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey also appreciated the innovations.

The products helped a lot in the fight against the pandemic and were used by hospitals, and frontline COVID warriors and Covid patents, sources said.
