Bengaluru: Odisha’s ace para athlete Jayanti Behera has done the state proud again.
The 23-year-old sprinted to victory to clinch gold medal in women’s 100m at the 5th Indian Open Para Athletics International Championship 2023.
Jayanti clocked 13.28 seconds to leave the rest field in her wake at Shree Kanteerava Stadium.
A former World youth champion, Jayanti claimed three gold medals each in the 2021 and 2022 National Para Athletics Championships held in Bengaluru and Bhubaneswar, respectively. She was adjudged Best Female Para Athlete in last year’s Nationals.
