Jeypore: The COVID-19 tally in Koraput district surged to 1204 on Sunday with an overnight addition of 60 new cases.
According to the district administration, 19 cases have been reported from Jeypore municipality, 14 from Koraput municipality while four each from Narayanpatna and Laxmipur block, three each from Bandhugaon, Koraput block and Sunabeda municipality, two each from Boipariguda, Borigumma, and Semiliguda block and one each from Potangi, Lamtaput, Kundra block, and Jeypore block.
Among the new cases, one is a healthcare worker and three are police personnel while eight have travel history to different states.

While 54 are direct contacts of previous patients, 24 have been reported from containment zones.
Besides, the district also reported two deaths. A 47-year-old man and a 65-year-old man suffering from diabetics and respiratory distress have succumbed to the virus.
With two death and 667 recoveries, Kandhamal now has 535 active cases.
