Koraput: In the latest development in the rape and suicide of a minor girl of Musaguda village in Koraput district, a family member of the deceased on Tuesday said only a CBI probe into the case can bring the truth to the limelight.
Talking to the media here, the aunt of the deceased, while thanking the Orissa High Court for hearing the case, wondered how many investigations will be conducted to unravel the truth. While the incident had taken place two years ago, the police have failed to nab the accused. “We have already lost our daughter. Our only hope is that the CBI will be able to give us justice,” she added.
The development has come a day after the Orissa High Court decided to court-monitor a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigation into case. It may be recalled that the High Court on Monday had said that it will monitor a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the investigation conducted by Crime Branch into the case. The court directed the state government to form a SIT comprising senior police officers of the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) to take up the investigation.
