Bhubaneswar: With three more coronavirus cases being detected on Friday, Bhubaneswar is slowly turning into a potential hotspot.
The Odisha capital had earlier reported four cases and two among them have fully recovered and discharged from hospitals, where they were undergoing treatment.
The latest COVID-19 patients are siblings and they reside at Bomikhal here.
Meanwhile, the government is making all efforts to trace their contacts as these cases have triggered apprehensions about local transmission having started in Bhubaneswar.
To check a possible community transmission, a 48-hour shutdown has been enforced in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Bhadrak, which have reported COVID-19 cases, from 8 pm on Friday. This decision was taken after the fifth COVID-19 case from Surya Nagar in Bhubaneswar with no travel history contracted the infection.
