Bhubaneswar: NITI Aayog has recognised ‘Mo Prativa’ and ‘Mo Jeevan’ to be among the best COVID-19 practices in the country.
‘Mo Prativa’ is an online competition, launched by the Odisha government in collaboration with the UNICEF, to engage the children and youth who have been confined to home during lockdown, while ‘Mo Jeevan’ pledges to teach people about public health and hygiene measures.
‘Mo Pratibha’ competition, launched in April, has two categories – ‘Being at home during lockdown’ and ‘My responsibility as a young citizen during COVID-19’.
Children in the age groups of 5-10, 11-16 and 16-18 years had participated in the programme – displaying their skills in art, slogan writing, short story writing (within 500 words), poem writing and poster making.
The state government awarded certificates to winners and used the winning entries in Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials for creating awareness.
The ‘Mo Jeevan’ programme — launched by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in March and urged people to stay at home and follow the lockdown guidelines to contain the coronavirus – also appears in the document titled Mitigation and Management of COVID-19 — Practices from Indian States and Union Territories of the NITI Aayog.
In his foreword, NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant said the purpose of the compendium is to “take note of practices that are grounded in our realities”.
“Instead of expecting every State to reinvent the wheel, dissemination of such practices allows them to learn from each other and help find solutions to common problems,” the foreword said.
