Bhubaneswar: No more standing in the queue as visitors to Nandankanan Zoological Park, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, can now get a digital ticket in 30 seconds with WhatsApp-based cashless ticket system being introduced for entry.
To reduced the rush at ticket counters, a WhatsApp number will displayed at multiple locations near the zoo. It can also be obtained from the zoo website. The visitors have to type ‘Hi’ and send to the number to start the booking process. They have to mention the number of persons (adult or children) and click yes or no to queries, including whether they have cameras (high-end or normal), that would follow. The pay option would then pop up and they can use any payment gateway for it, sources said.
Last year, the zoo authorities has made online booking of entry tickets mandatory amid the COVID pandemic. Visitors were asked to book entry tickets online by visiting the website www.nandankanan.org or Nandankanan Android App.
