Bhubaneswar: A day after a sharp decline, Odisha on Tuesday saw 37 more people testing positive for COVID against 15 on Monday, and 31 on Sunday.
According to the I & PR department, 22 of these new cases are from quarantine and 15 local contacts. Seven among them belong to the 0-18 years age group.
Here is the district-wise tally of new cases:
1. Bhadrak: 1
2. Balangir: 1
3. Cuttack: 5
4. Deogarh: 2
5. Khurda: 8
6. Koraput: 1
7. Nuapada: 2
8. Puri: 1
9. Sambalpur: 4
10. Sundargarh: 11
Besides, one positive case from State Pool has been recorded.
With these cases being detected from 6,724 samples, the test positivity rate stood at 0.55%. With 33 more recoveries in the last 24 hours, Odisha now has 259 active cases.
It is pertinent to mention here that four districts – Jharsuguda, Dhenkanal, Rayagada and Malkangiri – have turned COVID-free with nil active cases, according to the state COVID dashboard whereas Ganjam, Kendrapada and Angul districts have only one active case each.
