Bhubaneswar: Paradip Port has clocked record cargo throughput of 50.16 million metric tonnes (MMT) on August 8 by exhibiting 6.5% growth over the corresponding period of previous fiscal.
According to an official release, this feat has been achieved in 129 days in the current fiscal compared to 140 days during the previous year. The port handled record 942 vessels in comparison to 812 handled in the corresponding period of previous fiscal.
With this, Paradip Port Authority (PPA) has become the fastest major port to handle 50 MMT cargo in current fiscal, it added.
