Odisha’s Puri King To Leave For UK On 5-Week Tour This Month

Puri: Odisha’s Puri Gajapati Dibyasingha Deb will go on a 5-week tour to the United Kingdom this month.

As per reports, the king, who will be accompanied by the queen during the tour, will visit Jagannath temples and other shrines at London, Dublin, Edinburgh, Manchester and Bath. Odisha Society of Scotland will host the couple in Scotland from May 1 to 7.

They are also scheduled to attend several religious functions at local temples. The Gajapati will meet the officials of Indian Consulate and dignitaries in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Edinburgh-based Odisha Society of Scotland will also organise several functions for the Puri king and queen. The Society holds various events like Rath Yatra, Utkal Diwas, Raja, Sabitri, Saraswati Puja and others in Edinburgh and Glasgow every year.
