Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) has approved 8 major projects worth Rs 1397.18 crore.
The SLSWCA extended its approval to the projects at its 124th meeting, chaired by Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena on Friday. The projects entail investment in plastic, technical textile and aluminium sectors across 6 districts.
While the steel sector witnessed a surge in approvals considering the state’s rich mineral resources and metallurgical expertise, the IT sector emerged as a priority.
In the plastic sector, Sintex BAPL Limited will invest Rs 479.47 crore to set up manufacturing unit for CPVC, UPVC, SWR, Agri Pipes, PVC fittings and plastic tanks with annual capacity of 37,520 tonne in Sambalpur. Also, HIL India will invest Rs 250 crore to set up PVC and CPVC pipes manufacturing units.
Mega Flex Plastics Ltd will come up with manufacturing unit for plastic containers, leno bag, PP Woven Bags, PP Woven fabrics and corrugated box in Khurda with an investment of Rs 62.38 crore.
In steel sector, Four Sandhu Tubes Private Limited and KAI Steel Private Limited will invest Rs 188.98 crore in downstream sectors in Jajpur and Sundargarh.
In the aluminium sector, Hindalco Industries Ltd will establish a White Fused Alumina manufacturing unit in Sambalpur with Rs 241.05 crore.
In the IT industry, Anuj Autograph Business Park will set up an IT Park in Khurda with an investment of Rs 105.3 crore.
In the agro-industry sector, GGL Chalet Pvt Limited will invest Rs 70 crore for setting up a manufacturing unit for Veneer, ply board and particle board and biomass pellet in Koraput.
