Bhubaneswar: Odisha government’s Single Window Committee (SWC) has approved investment proposals worth Rs 556.49 crore in renewable energy sector.
The proposals were approved at the fifth meeting of the SWC presided by Vishal Kumar Dev, Principal Secretary, Energy department, on Saturday.
This significant funding is dedicated to the establishment of transformative green energy projects, demonstrating the state’s unwavering commitment to achieving its Net Zero target.
The projects proposed generation of 82.42 MW power in renewable energy sector. The proposals include a 10 MW ground-mounted solar project by ITC Ltd, 7.92 MW ground-mounted solar project by Tata Steel Ltd and 5 MW ground-mounted solar project by MGM Green Energy Ltd.
Similarly, the proposal of 10 MW SHEP by the state-owned PSU, GEDCOL in joint venture with CPSU, SAIL in hydroelectric power sector was approved.
Further, the state’s first wind power project with capacity of 49.5 MW by JSW Neo Energy Limited was approved by the Committee.
Till date, the SWC of Energy Department has approved investment proposals totalling Rs 3,129.54 crore with 397.26 MW generation in renewable energy sector under the Odisha Renewable Energy Policy, 2022.
