Bhubaneswar: NCC cadets and NSS volunteers of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA) on Tuesday reached out to the city policemen and traffic police personnel in the scorching heat by distributing ORS packets and water bottles.
Students of the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), faculty of engineering and technology of SOA, distributed around 5,000 ORS packets and 2,000 water bottles on the first day, Director of ITER Prof. Manas Kumar Mallick said.
This assistance will be extended to all cops under the Commissionerate Police deployed in all traffic intersections of the city, he said.
The Commissioner of Police, Sanjeeb Panda and Deputy Commissioner of Police Prateek Singh were present. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) P.K. Rout and Associate NCC Officer of SOA Dr Satish Kumar Samal were also present.
