Bhubaneswar: Abhinav Bindra Foundation (ABF) has chosen the sports medicine and rehab centre, Sports Science India (SSI)here as its latest centre of excellence partner.
Making the announcement on Twitter, the Abhinav Bindra Foundation said:
“Introducing our next centre of excellence partner, Sports Science India, Dr. Sarthak Patnaik, Bhubaneshwar. Through Sport of Life, we provide budding athletes timely & affordable surgeries, recovery & rehabilitation facilities,” the post read.
Notably, designed by veteran sports surgery and sports medicine expert Dr Sarthak Patnaik and his brother Soumya Patnaik in 2015, SSI is the first Sports Medicine Centre of Odisha and also eastern India. It was designed by seasoned sports surgery and sports medicine expert Dr Sarthak Patnaik and his brother Soumya Patnaik. The motto of the centre is ‘Prevent Injury Prolong Career.’
Dr Sarthak Patnaik, founder and director of SSI, has been treating several sports players at zonal, district and state levels for over six years having treated several national and international athletes including India’s Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra and Commonwealth gold medalist Ravi Kumar.
Among the disciplines, SSI has served are: T20 International Series, National Para Athletic Championship 2022, India National Rugby Union Team, India Ice Hockey Team, Odisha Football Academy and Odisha Ranji Cricket Team.
Under the partnership, SSI and ABF will give monetary help to any player who’s poor but certified and requires surgical or medicinal treatment. Healthium Medtech Limited will provide the necessary implants.
Abhinav Bindra Foundation raises awareness around sports injuries and offers high-quality facilities, treatment options and resources to help athletes to rebuild their careers after surgical intervention. The foundation already has centres of excellence in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Mumbai, Chennai, Jaipur and Lucknow.
