Bhubaneswar: Bringing laurels to Odisha and the country, Sudaran Pattnaik has become the first Indian to receive the Italian Golden Sand Art Award-2019
The honour for the Padma Shri awardee came at the International Scorrana Sand Nativity festival in Secce, Italy on Friday evening.
Pattnaik created a 10-feet high sculpture of Mahatma Gandhi with the Russian artist Pavel Minilkov.
He was among eight sand sculptors who had participated in the festival.
