Bhubaneswar: A thick fog engulfed the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar in the early hours of Tuesday resulting in a drop in visibility to as low as 50 metres.
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bhubaneswar witnessed the maximum fog density.
Poor visibility also affected air traffic at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) and the arrival of IndiGo flights from Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Delhi, AirAsia flight from Kolkata and Vistara flight from Mumbai To Bhubaneswar were delayed.
Not only twin cities, similar weather conditions were also seen in several coastal areas of the state. The weather office had also issued a fog forecast over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Balangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, and Cuttack.
The night temperature is also likely to drop by 2 to 4 degree Celsius over the next four days.
