Bhubaneswar: Young girls from Odisha have been making the state proud by winning crowns in beauty pageants.
Sambalpur’s Mimansha Priyadarshini Rath is the newest entrant to this list. She has won the first runners up title in Miss/Mrs Supernova Pageant season 2 online contest held recently. The event was organised by Clara Groups and managed by founder Aishwarya Reddy and co-founder Sai Priya of Bengaluru and held from May 31 to June 10.
Sharing her participation story with Odisha Bytes, Mimansha said, “I was a big fan of Femina Miss India since childhood and used to admire the young ladies walking down the ramp. But, I always wondered why only slim girls and under a certain age were selected. This made me look for platforms where women of all sizes and age groups can showcase their talent.”
Her search for such platforms ended at Miss/Mrs Supernova Online Pageant. She made it from Top-30 to Top-8 and then to the Top 3.
The founder of Miss Mrs Indian Diva, an online beauty pageant, she said, “Miss Supernova Pageant is one place where you are heard irrespective of your physique or height. I am confident and my interest has made me to search for the best and I am confident of making a positive change in fashion industry if given chance in future,” she explained about her dream in a few words.
She is a celebrity singer, anchor, model, fashion blogger, groomer, entrepreneur, writer and a YouTuber.
A question that Mimansha thinks pushed her a step towards the crown during the personal interview round was this: What you will do if a naughty kid enters the ramp suddenly during your Ramp Walk? It was from Suruchi Singh, a jury member.
To this Mimansha replied, “With my presence of mind I will calmly handle the situation rather than panic. I would quickly hold the hands of that kid and walk the ramp again in different poses. And, from that I can quickly grab the audience attention.”
Talking about her entry to the contest she said the biggest adventure one can embark on is to live the life of one’s dreams. “After entering the field of pageantry my life has totally changed. I participated in many pageants and successfully completed that journey by bagging the titles of first runner up in a multiple contests. I believe that one should never stop learning and never give up on their dreams,” she said.
A postgraduate in English from Gangadhar Meher University, Mimansha said that she represented women and the power of women.
She is currently pursuing sociology from Odisha State Open University and preparing for the Civil Services. We wish her luck.
