Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police has decided to launch campaign ‘Pari-2’ from September 1 to rescue and rehabilitate missing children, informed Crime Branch ADG Santosh Upadhyay on Tuesday.
“Following the closure of ‘Operation Muskaan’ and its overwhelming response from different quarters, Odisha Police has decided to start another such campaign ‘Pari-2’. During the campaign, officials from the Crime Branch will travel outside the state to rescue missing children from Odisha and rehabilitate them. It will continue till September 30”, he said.
The special campaign will be launched by the Crime Branch in association with Women and Child Development Department with active participation of all district police. The first phase of the drive will be held within the state from September 1 to 15 and the second one between September 16 and 30 to trace missing children from Odisha, in other parts of the country, he added.
Odisha Police had earlier launched a state-wide awareness campaign against child abuse ‘Paree Pain Katha Tiye’ with support from UNICEF. As many as 15 mobile vans (Paree Express) covered all the 30 districts of the state spreading awareness on the issue from May 28 to June 12 this year.
