Official Work Paralysed As Odisha Secretariat Staff Launch Indefinite Cease-Work

Bhubaneswar: the official work in Odisha Secretariat was paralysed as the members of Odisha Secretariat Service Association started indefinite ceasework strike in support of their demands.

As soon as the office hour began, the officials and officers of the Secretariat gathered in the ground of Panchayati Raj department to participate in the pen-down strike called by the Association on Monday. The strike was observed peacefully throughout the day.

Addressing the gathering, vice-president of the association Aksaya Kumar Parida said it was a matter of concern for all of them that despite holding several meetings, the government had failed to take any steps on fulfilling their demands.

Seeking intervention of the chief minister and 5T chairman in the matter, he said they would continue the strike till their demands were fulfilled.

General secretary of the association Prajyotna Baral said since Wednesday is a government holiday due to Saraswati Puja, they would resume the strike on Thursday.
